Live Mode
The image below shows a typical live mode display, please note that the number of available screen modes depends on the DVR model. Operation of the DVR is extremely intuitive and requires little explanation other than the functions of the various buttons and indicators.

Live view
Live view is the default screen view comprising a single camera or multi-camera display with camera and multi
screen select buttons. Sensor buttons show camera no. Alarm status and Control buttons activate outputs such as
barriers and gates - all of which can be named.

Screen mode selection
To select a multiscreen view click on the relevant multiscreen key. To select a single camera from multiscreen mode double click the relevant image within the multiscreen view. To return to the multiscreen view double click the single screen image.
It is also possible to customise screen displays for each system operator to suit their personal preferences.

Instant Record
For the instant record feature to be effective the DVR should be programmed for a high record rate at a high quality. Instant record is designed to record more information when an incident takes place when an operator activates the function.
The instant record function is also programmed with a timer, which when elapsed will cancel the feature; alternatively the feature can be cancelled by the operator before the timer elapses.
To enable instant record right click the camera where the incident is taking place – the camera will display.

Search Mode
The DVR has many search modes which will be examined one by one; all are accessed from the main search mode display.

Calendar Function
For Date based searches a calendar is included to allow the user to identify on which dates they have recorded data.
When in search mode the calendar can be displayed by clicking the icon marked:

Preview Search
This search is useful for searching through a 24 hour period when an incident has taken place. It is particularly useful for situations where an item has been taken which in a cameras view during the 24 hour period and you need to identify when the item “disappeared”.
Use the calendar to locate the day you wish to search. When the correct day is selected press the “Preview search” button – the day will be shown as 24 x 1 hour thumbnail images.

Thumbnails
Locate the hour you require and click on that thumbnail image – the hour will then be shown as 6 x 10 minute thumbnail images.
10 X 1 Minute
Locate the 10 minute section you require and click the thumbnail – that 10 minute section will be displayed as 10 x 1 minute thumbnail images.

1 Minute
Click the 1 minute section you require and use the playback keys to review the footage.

Event
Event search will give a list of all events recorder for:
day/Week/Month/Year
By event type:
All/Motion/Sensor/Instant/Bookmark/Smart Motion

Status Search
Status search is useful for systems that are not constant recording, or for a quick and convenient way of locating and previewing video footage at 1 minute intervals. Recording periods are shown as blue patches or solid lines (when the DVR is constantly recording). Click on a camera track at a given time to begin review of footage.

Backup Search
The backup search “looks for” any storage attached to the DVR where back ups have been stored. In most cases backups are made to removable media and reviewed on a PC.
When using backup search you need to know the location of the back up on the DVR and select it.

PTZ
Pan and Tilt. Dome telemetry protocols, preset positions, privacy zones and tours are set up for each dome.

Backup
- Select the camera(s) to be backed up and the start and end time for the backup.
- Adjust the date and time for the start and end of the backup by clicking on the required field and using the up and down controls to adjust the value.
- Click the “Backup” button to start the backup.
- A progress indicator will be displayed and when the backup is complete.

Replay
Clicking the replay button will put the DVR into reverse play mode in the current screen selection from the moment in time it was selected.
This feature is designed to allow rapid review of incidents that have quite literally just happened.
